TL;DR

BLS Spain visa appointment in Manchester: register on uk.blsspainvisa.com, choose Manchester, take a slot from the live calendar and complete the Spain form in the booking. Manchester's Spanish consulate decided 38,175 UK applications in 2025 and refused 8.0%, the highest rate of Spain's three UK consulates. You pay €90 plus £14.85 at the centre. If Manchester is full, London and Edinburgh are open to you. Rather not chase it? We prepare and book it for £99.

How to get a slot at BLS Manchester

A BLS Spain visa appointment in Manchester is booked on the official BLS International site, uk.blsspainvisa.com, the only route for a Spain Schengen visa from the UK. You create an account, choose Manchester as your centre, pick an available date and complete the Spain application form as part of the booking. Booking is free and the fees are paid on the day.

Manchester is the centre most people in the north of England and the Midlands can reach, and the second busiest of the three by applications. Create the account before you need it so that when dates appear you are choosing one, not registering.

Manchester's Spanish consulate in 2025

Spain, all UK138,1958,1386.1%3.9%

Manchester's rate was the highest of the three in both years and rose with Spain's overall rate, which went from 3.9% to 6.1%. The statistics do not explain the gap and we will not invent a reason. What a higher rate tells you is practical: the file lodged in Manchester has to tell one consistent story, because the common refusal reasons (funds that do not match the trip, missing nights of accommodation, a main destination that is really another country, weak evidence of a return to the UK) are preparation failures. They are listed on our refusals page, and the Spain-specific numbers are on the refusal rates page.

Step by step

  1. Register on uk.blsspainvisa.com and keep the login; you manage the booking from it.
  2. Choose Manchester as your centre. Any UK resident may choose any of the three BLS cities.
  3. Pick a slot from the live calendar and complete the Spain application form in the booking flow, with your passport and trip details to hand.
  4. Build the file to the BLS checklist: passport and old passports, proof of UK residence (BRP, eVisa share code or visa), round-trip flights, accommodation for every night, a day-by-day itinerary, 3 to 6 months of bank statements with payslips, an employer or university letter, travel insurance with at least €30,000 of medical cover, two photos to the spec and a short cover letter. Details on the Schengen documents page.
  5. Attend in Manchester to give biometrics and hand over the pack. BLS checks it against the consulate's requirements at the counter; a gap costs you the visit. Pay the €90 consulate fee (about £81) and the £14.85 BLS fee there.
  6. Wait for the decision: normally 15 calendar days from the appointment, up to 45 in some cases. Courier return is an optional paid extra; otherwise you collect. See Spain visa processing time.

If BLS Manchester shows no slots

BLS releases dates in batches and nobody outside BLS knows when the next batch lands, so we do not quote a wait. What the north does when Manchester is full:

  • Check at different times of day, for new batches and cancellations.
  • Open Edinburgh's calendar. From the north-east, Cumbria and Yorkshire, BLS Edinburgh is often as reachable as Manchester, and it handled 17,180 applications in 2025 with the lowest refusal rate of the three.
  • Open London's calendar too; BLS London is the largest centre by applications.
  • Book up to six months ahead, and before summer if you can.
  • Avoid "guaranteed slot" sellers and bots. Consulates have voided appointments booked that way.

What our booking desk does. It opens all three BLS calendars by hand every working day for every customer whose file is complete and books the first slot that fits their dates, in the customer's own name and account. We never run bots or scripts, never ask for your portal password or one-time code, and never buy or sell a slot. When we have a recent reading, the offer card at the top of this page shows the earliest Spain slot we have seen and the day we saw it; every centre's readings are in the appointment availability index. If the BLS system shows no Spain appointments at all, the booking promise pauses and the plan step says so before you pay. The done-for-you service is a £99 service fee, official fees paid at the centre, booked within 3 working days of your complete file, subject to availability, or the fee back.

Before your Manchester appointment

  • Print the appointment confirmation, or have it on your phone.
  • Check the passport: issued within 10 years, valid 3 months beyond your return, 2 blank pages.
  • Make the statements, the bookings and the itinerary agree on dates and cities, with most nights in Spain; otherwise read which country to apply to first.
  • Build and size the file with the free checklist generator, the Bundler and the Compressor.

Manchester also hosts VFS Global, TLScontact and GVC World centres for other destinations; see Schengen visa appointments in Manchester.

Common questions

  1. 01

How do I book a BLS Spain visa appointment in Manchester?

Register on the BLS International UK site at uk.blsspainvisa.com, choose Manchester as your centre, pick an available date from the live calendar and complete the Spain application form as part of the booking. You attend in person to give fingerprints and a photo, hand over your documents and pay the fees at the counter. Booking on the official site is free.

  2. 02

Is Manchester the right BLS centre for the north of England?

It is the one most people in the north and the Midlands can reach, and it took 38,175 Spain applications in 2025. But BLS lets any UK resident choose Manchester, London or Edinburgh at the booking step, so if Manchester shows nothing, Edinburgh (a short train from the north-east and Cumbria) or London may have an earlier date. Each city has its own Spanish Consulate General deciding the files lodged there.

  3. 03

Why is Manchester's refusal rate higher than London's?

The European Commission's figures show Manchester's Spanish consulate refused 8.0% of 38,175 applications in 2025, against 5.9% in London and 2.2% in Edinburgh. The statistics do not say why, and we will not guess. What they do say is that a Spain file lodged in Manchester has to be complete and consistent: bank statements that match the trip, every night of accommodation, a day-by-day itinerary and clear evidence of your return to the UK.

  4. 04

What do I pay at the BLS Manchester centre?

The €90 Spanish consulate fee (about £81) for an adult, €45 for a child aged 6 to 11 and nothing under 6, plus BLS International's service fee of £14.85 including VAT. Optional extras such as courier return cost more. About £96 per adult, paid at the centre whether you apply yourself or use a service, and not refunded if the visa is refused.

  5. 05

Why does BLS Manchester show no appointment slots?

Spain took more UK applications than any other Schengen state in 2025, and BLS releases dates in batches without notice. Check the calendar at different times of day, watch for cancellations, open the London and Edinburgh calendars, and book as early as your dates allow, up to six months before travel. Avoid slot bots and resellers: consulates have voided appointments booked that way.

  6. 06

Can a service book my BLS Manchester appointment?

Yes, if it books on the official BLS site in your own name and you attend in person. Our done-for-you service prepares the whole file and books the appointment in your own BLS account for a £99 service fee, within 3 working days of your complete documents, subject to availability, or the fee back. We never use bots, never ask for your login code and never buy or sell a slot.
