Booking a TLScontact France appointment

TLScontact France visa appointment in the UK: all short-stay France applications from the UK go through TLScontact, with centres in London (Wandsworth), Manchester and Edinburgh, and every file is decided by the French consulate in London, which decided 129,940 UK applications in 2025 and refused 8.5%. Registration is free and takes minutes. The two things that matter are doing the steps in the right order and having the file complete before you register, because the date arrives when TLScontact issues it and cannot be moved.

The right order, step by step

Complete the France-Visas form first. Create an account at france-visas.gouv.fr, complete the online application and validate it. This generates the application reference TLScontact needs and your personal document checklist.
Create a TLScontact account on the TLScontact France portal and link your France-Visas reference.
Pick your city. London, Manchester or Edinburgh: france-visas.gouv.fr states there is no consular area inside the UK, so any UK resident may use any centre. Choose the one you can reach on the day.
Register for allocation. Since 1 August 2026 London (Wandsworth) and Manchester, and since 11 September 2026 Edinburgh, run TLScontact's automatic allocation for short-stay visas. Your validated application joins the queue; there is no calendar at any of the three.
Receive the allocation email, pay within 12 hours. The appointment cannot be rescheduled. If no appointment is allocated within 60 days, the registration is deleted and you register again.
Attend in person to give biometrics (fingerprints and photo) and hand over your documents. TLScontact collects the €90 consulate fee and its own service fee.
Get your passport back by courier or by collecting it from the centre once the decision is made.

If TLScontact shows no France slots

It will not show any, at any centre, because the system no longer works that way. What actually works:

Register as early as your dates allow. You can lodge up to 6 months before travel, France's summer demand is heavy, and a registration is deleted after 60 days without an allocation.
Have the file finished first. The date can arrive at any time, you have 12 hours to pay, and TLScontact checks the file against the France-Visas checklist at the counter. A missing bank statement is not something you fix after the email lands.
Any centre is yours to use. There is no consular area in the UK. Manchester and Edinburgh are explained on TLScontact France in Manchester and Edinburgh.
Ignore slot trackers, bots and "guaranteed slot" sellers. There is no calendar for them to watch. TLScontact says the change was made to "protect visa applicants from fraudulent and costly third-party agencies" (The Connexion, 13 October 2026). Consulates have voided appointments booked by bots and resellers.

One more timing point: the appointment date is what starts the processing clock, not the day you complete the France-Visas form or register. Work backwards from your travel date, allow 15 calendar days from whatever date is allocated, and buy nothing non-refundable until the visa is in your passport.
