TL;DR
Italy visa help from the UK for a £99 service fee: we complete the Italian consulate's PDF form, build your document pack to its checklist, and book your VFS Global appointment in London, Manchester or Edinburgh in your own name. The Consulate General in London decided every UK application in 2025 and refused 6.0%. You pay the €90 consulate fee and VFS's fee at the centre, attend biometrics, and the consulate decides. No bots, no bought slots.
Italy from the UK: who takes the application
Italian short-stay applications in the UK go through VFS Global in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. The Consulate General of Italy in London decides: the European Commission's 2025 statistics show all 18,956 UK applications under that one post, so the centre you choose changes the journey and the date, not who reads the file. The consulate says appointments are managed exclusively through VFS Global, on visa.vfsglobal.com.
The application form is a PDF from the consulate's forms page, printed and signed. It is not an online form, and the vistoperitalia.esteri.it site only checks whether you need a visa. The €90 consulate fee, about £81, is paid at the centre (€45 for a child aged 6 to 11, free under 6), plus VFS's service fee of about £25 to £35; VFS does not publish the UK figure for Italy, so treat it as an estimate until you see it at checkout. Standard processing is 15 calendar days from the appointment, up to 45 in some cases. Official fees are about £113 per adult.
The slot situation
Italy is a summer destination and VFS calendars empty fast in peak season. Slots release in batches and cancellations come back at random times, so a calendar that shows nothing one hour can show dates the next. Any of the three centres can take your application. We do not quote a waiting time, because nobody outside VFS knows one. Applications can be lodged up to six months before travel.
Our desk logs the earliest Italy slot it has actually seen at each centre and the day it saw it, and shows that reading on this page and the plan step while it is under three weeks old. When VFS shows no Italy appointments at all, the booking promise is paused for Italy and the plan step says so before you pay.
What our desk does for an Italy file
- Confirms the country from your itinerary. Rome, Florence and Venice on one trip is clearly Italy; a week in Italy and a week in France is decided by the nights, and by the first entry if they are equal. See which country to apply to.
- Prepares the file within 24 hours of your complete documents and details: the consulate's PDF form completed for your signature, the ordered document pack, the cover letter and the what-to-bring list. Miss that through our fault and the fee comes back.
- Checks all three VFS calendars by hand, London, Manchester and Edinburgh, every working day, and books the first date that fits your travel and the centre you can reach, in your own name, from an account in your name.
- Books within 3 working days of your complete file, subject to availability, or the fee comes back. If VFS shows no slots at all, the promise is paused and you are told before you pay.
- Briefs you for the day: what to bring, what to pay at the counter, how the passport comes back, and when to expect the decision.
We do not run bots or scripts against VFS Global's site, we never ask for your VFS password or one-time code, and we never buy or sell an appointment. If we have to ask you for a missing document, both clocks pause from our request until you have sent it.
What the Italian consulate is strict about
VFS staff check the file against the consulate's requirements at the counter, and an incomplete submission can mean rebooking a slot you fought for. The pack we build covers:
- The signed PDF form, completed from your passport and your bookings so that every date and name matches.
- Proof of UK status: a BRP, an eVisa share code or the visa in your passport, with leave running beyond the trip.
- Accommodation for every night and return flights, on the same dates as the form, plus a day-by-day itinerary for a multi-city trip.
- Funds and ties: three to six months of bank statements, payslips, an employer or university letter, tenancy or property, family. Thin evidence that you will return to the UK is the main reason Schengen applications are refused.
- Insurance with at least €30,000 of medical and repatriation cover for the whole Schengen area and the whole trip.
- Photos to the 35 by 45 mm specification and a passport issued within the last ten years with three months' validity beyond your return.
In 2025 the consulate refused 6.0% of UK applications to Italy, the same rate as in 2024. That is not a prediction for any one file.
What does not change
The consulate decides, and the 15-day clock starts at your appointment, not when you pay us. The official fees are the same whoever prepares the file: about £113 per adult for Italy, paid by you at the centre, plus your own insurance. We do not refund on a refusal, because the decision is not what you buy; the £99 is refunded in full if you cancel before work starts. With under three weeks to travel we tell you whether a slot and a decision are realistic rather than take the fee.
Before you buy: the timing check
Work backwards from your departure: up to 15 calendar days from the appointment for the decision, sometimes up to 45, and before that whatever VFS releases at the three centres. For a July trip, a file completed in April or May gives the desk room. If your trip is under three weeks away, read urgent Schengen visa from the UK first, or message the desk on WhatsApp at +44 7341 434824 with your dates and the centre you can reach. Replies come from a person, within the hour, day or night.

Common questions
- 01
What does the Italy visa service include?
We confirm Italy is the right country to apply to, complete the Consulate General of Italy's Schengen application form, build your document pack to its checklist, book your VFS Global appointment in London, Manchester or Edinburgh in your own name, and give you a what-to-bring list for the day. Your file is ready within 24 hours of your complete documents and your appointment is booked within 3 working days of your complete file, subject to availability, or the service fee comes back.
- 02
How much does an Italy visa cost from the UK with your service?
Our service fee is £99 for the first applicant and £69 for each extra applicant on the same order, up to five. The official fees are paid by you at the centre: the €90 consulate fee, about £81 (€45 for a child aged 6 to 11, free under 6), VFS Global's service fee of about £25 to £35, an estimate because VFS does not publish the UK figure for Italy and other sources conflict, and travel insurance from about £12. About £113 per adult in official fees, which we never add to.
- 03
Is the Italy visa form online?
No. The Schengen application form for Italy is a PDF from the forms page of the Consulate General of Italy in London, printed and signed. The vistoperitalia.esteri.it site only checks whether you need a visa, and the consulate says appointments are managed exclusively through VFS Global. We complete the PDF from your details, you sign it, and it goes in the pack with the rest.
- 04
Can you get a VFS Italy appointment faster?
We cannot create a slot. VFS releases Italy appointments in batches, cancellations return at random times, and the calendars empty fast before summer. What we do is check all three calendars by hand every working day, London, Manchester and Edinburgh, and book the first date that fits your travel, in your own name, from an account in your name. We do not quote waiting times, we never use bots, and we never buy a slot.
- 05
Which UK city should I apply in for Italy?
Whichever of London, Manchester or Edinburgh you can reach on the date VFS shows. All three centres send the file to the Consulate General of Italy in London, which decided every UK application in 2025, so the centre choice is about the journey and the date, not the decision.
- 06
How likely is an Italy visa to be refused from the UK?
The European Commission's 2025 figures show 1,144 of 18,956 UK applications to Italy refused, 6.0%, the same rate as 2024. We never use these figures to predict an individual outcome and we do not guarantee a visa. The grounds within your control are the main-destination rule, an itinerary that matches the form, proof of funds and of your ties to the UK, and insurance covering the whole trip.
