When to apply to Hungary

London, Manchester or Edinburgh?
Hungary runs joint VFS application centres in London, Manchester and Edinburgh, but every application is decided by the consulate in London. Files lodged in London reach the consulate the next working day, while Manchester and Edinburgh submissions have to be forwarded first — so if your travel date is close, the London centre shaves off transit time. What you'll need
The standard Schengen document set: a passport issued within the last 10 years and valid at least 3 months beyond your trip, the completed and signed application form, a recent photo, proof of UK residence, confirmed travel and accommodation bookings, a day-by-day itinerary, recent bank statements, €30,000+ travel insurance covering the Schengen area, and strong evidence you'll return to the UK. As a UK-resident non-EU national, thin UK-ties evidence is the leading reason these applications are refused.
