Family and spouse visas, for people living in the UK

Joining your family in Europe? We prepare the visa.

Moving to live with your husband, wife or parent in Germany, France, Spain or any EU country takes a family visa, and every country has its own list. A named person checks your case, builds your document list, checks every document and gets your application ready for the embassy. From £399 service fee, confirmed before you pay. Any official fee is paid by you to the embassy.

Ask by email

Which family visa is yours

It depends on your partner's nationality and where they live. Tell us both and we confirm the right visa before you pay.

Your partner is an EU citizen living in another EU country
For example, your wife is Polish and works in Spain.
EU free-movement rules apply, which usually means no visa fee and a quicker decision than other family visas.
Your partner is a citizen of the country you are moving to
For example, your husband is German and lives in Berlin.
Each country sets its own rules, and some ask for a basic language certificate before you apply.
Your partner is not an EU citizen but lives in Europe
For example, your wife works in the Netherlands on a work permit.
In some countries your partner starts the process there first. We tell you which part is theirs and prepare yours.

Joining an EU citizen: what every EU country must do

When your partner is an EU citizen living in an EU country that is not their own, EU free-movement rules set a floor every country keeps. From the European Commission's Your Europe pages.

  • If your passport needs a visa, the entry visa is free, and a decision taking more than 15 days should be exceptional. Source
  • Say on the form that you are applying as the family member of an EU citizen; otherwise you may get the wrong visa and be charged for it. Source
  • You apply for your residence card in the new country within 3 months of arriving, often at the town hall or local police station. Source
  • The residence card is often free, and you cannot be sent away because your visa ran out while it is being processed. Source
  • These rules do not cover joining a citizen in their own country: that follows the country's national rules, set out on each country page. Source

What we do

  • Check your case and tell you which visa applies, and whether we can help, before you pay
  • Build your document list from the embassy's own requirements for your country
  • Check every document, translation and apostille before it goes in
  • Fill in the application form with you, in your own account where the embassy uses an online portal
  • Prepare you for the appointment and stay with you until the decision

What you do

  • Get the certificates, apostilles, translations and any language test your country asks for
  • Sign and submit the application yourself, and attend the appointment in person
  • Pay any official fee directly to the embassy or consulate

We are a private company, not an embassy, consulate or visa centre. We do not give legal advice, and we do not handle visas into the UK.

How it works

  4. Step 4

Questions

Can you help me get a spouse or family visa for Germany, France, Spain or another EU country?
Yes, if you live in the UK. We prepare long-stay family and spouse visa applications for people moving to join a husband, wife, partner or parent in any EU or Schengen country. You tell us your case, we confirm the visa and the price before you pay, and we prepare the application with you.
Which countries do you cover?
Family visas for every EU and Schengen country, for people who live in the UK. Tell us yours and we confirm the visa and the price before you pay.
How long does it take?
The embassy decides, and a family visa takes longer than a visit visa. For a German citizen's husband or wife, the German Embassy in London says most applications take about three months. We tell you your embassy's own figure.
Is this the same as your Schengen visit visa?
No. A visit visa is for trips of up to 90 days. A family visa lets you move to live with your family, and the country's immigration office then issues your residence permit.
Can you help me bring my family to the UK?
No. Visas into the UK are UK immigration advice, which is regulated, and it is a criminal offence to give it without registration. We refer those cases to a registered adviser or a solicitor.
Do you give legal advice?
No. We prepare applications. If your case turns on a point of law, such as whether an exemption applies to you, we tell you and point you to a lawyer or the embassy.
Can you guarantee the visa?
No one can. The embassy and the immigration office decide. What we make sure of is a complete, checked application.

Only visiting Europe for up to 90 days? That is a Schengen visit visa, which we prepare for a £99 service fee, with the official fees paid at the centre.
