Can a visa agent in London get me a Schengen visa?

No agent can get you a visa. The consulate of your destination country decides, after you attend biometrics in person at a London centre or another UK centre. What an agent can legitimately do is prepare the form and document pack to that consulate's checklist, book the appointment on the official system, and tell you exactly what to pay at the centre. Anything sold as a guaranteed or arranged visa is not describing the real process.

Can a Schengen visa agent guarantee an appointment in London?

No. Slots are released by VFS Global, TLScontact, BLS International and GVC World in batches, and for Poland, Luxembourg and Romania by the consulate or embassy itself. Several consulates have voided appointments booked through bots or resellers. Since 1 August 2026 TLScontact's London centre allocates France appointments automatically from a queue, and from 1 June 2026 the German embassy runs a waiting list there, so there is no calendar for anyone to game.

How much does a Schengen visa agent in London charge?

When we surveyed UK services on 24 June 2026, headline fees ran from about 120 to 145 pounds, with the 90 euro consulate fee (about 81 pounds), the centre fee and insurance charged on top, giving real totals of roughly 221 to 331 pounds per adult. Is it legal to use an agent for a Schengen visa in the UK?

Yes. Using a legitimate service to prepare and book is legal, and the Schengen rules only require that you attend biometrics yourself and that the documents are genuine. What gets applications voided is bot-booked or resold appointments, and what gets them refused is false or altered documents. A good agent does neither and will say so in writing.

Do I still have to go to the visa centre myself if I use an agent?

Yes. Fingerprints and a digital photo are taken in person at the centre, and only applicants who gave fingerprints for a Schengen visa in the previous 59 months may be able to skip the fingerprint step. An agent prepares the file and books the appointment; you attend it with your passport and the printed pack.

What a Schengen visa agent does

A good agent does the paperwork and the logistics, then hands you a file you can walk into the centre with. In practice that means:

Working out which country to apply to: the one where you spend the most nights, or the first you enter if the nights are equal. See which country to apply to.
Completing the consulate's form, including any online portal step such as France-Visas or Denmark's ApplyVisa.
Building the document pack to the consulate's checklist: passport, photos, insurance with at least 30,000 euros of medical cover, bookings, bank statements, employer letter, proof of UK status and a cover letter.
Booking the appointment on the operator's official system and telling you what to bring and what to pay at the counter.

What no agent can do

Obtain the visa. The consulate decides, after biometrics. Any service claiming a guaranteed result is misdescribing the process.
Guarantee a slot. Appointments are released in batches by VFS Global, TLScontact, BLS International and GVC World, and by the consulate itself for Poland, Luxembourg and Romania. Consulates have voided bot-booked and resold appointments.
Discount the consulate fee. The 90 euro fee (about 81 pounds) is fixed EU-wide. A "discounted consulate fee" is a red flag, not a bargain.
Shorten processing. Fifteen calendar days from biometrics, extendable to 45, whoever prepared the file.
Attend for you. Fingerprints and the photo are captured in person.

Four things to check before you pay

1. The company number. A UK business should show its registered name and Companies House number. If you cannot find one, you do not know who holds your passport scans.

2. The published price. Ask for the all-in total. The consulate fee and the centre fee are fixed and paid at the centre, so the agent's own fee is the only number that varies. When we surveyed UK services on 24 June 2026, headline fees of about 120 to 145 pounds became real totals of roughly 221 to 331 pounds once the official fees were added. 3. The refund rule, in writing. It should cover cancelling before work starts, cancelling after, and a refusal. Nobody can refund the consulate fee or the centre fee.

4. Who books the appointment, and where. The booking must be on the operator's official system, for you, in your name, so that you can attend. Ask how the agent books. If the answer involves a bot, a "partner" with access, or a slot that already exists in someone else's name, walk away.
